I am often asked what I actually do.

Is it coaching
Is it consulting
Is it mentoring

The honest answer is that it depends. The Wright support (Pun fully intended) depends on what the business and the person leading it need in that moment.

That is why I work with two frameworks together. The Systems Business Coach® framework and The Clarity Compass™ By Wright Step Coaching.

Each framework does its job well. It is when they are used together that the work stops being theoretical and starts being useful in real life.

The Framework You See: The Systems Business Coach® Game Board

What I am holding here is the Systems Business Coach® framework brought to life as a game board. It represents 52 core business competencies across leadership, operations, marketing, finance, team, time, and strategy.

What this framework does exceptionally well is stop people from spinning between too many priorities at once. Instead of guessing where the problem lies or defaulting to the loudest issue of the week, business owners and teams can see what is actually happening across the business.

It creates clarity around questions like:

  • What is actually working

  • What is draining energy or resources

  • What needs attention next, not everything at once

The Systems Business Coach® framework shows us the structure of the business. It gives us a shared language and a clear starting point. But structure alone is not enough.

Where the Work Becomes Holistic: The Clarity Compass™

This is where The Wright Step Coaching Clarity Compass™ comes in.

The Clarity Compass™ anchors the work in four essential human elements:

  • Clarity of direction and priorities

  • Competence to build real capability

  • Confidence to make decisions and follow through

  • Connection to values, people, and purpose

When the Systems Business Coach® competencies are paired with the Clarity Compass™, conversations change. Decisions slow down. Focus sharpens. We are no longer just fixing parts of a business. We are supporting the person running it. It respects the business structure while accounting for the realities of the person leading it.

Why I Work This Way

I have spent 25 years working alongside business owners. First as a business banker. Then as a bank manager. Now as a coach.

Throughout that time, I was always looking for a way to support business owners based on what they were actually dealing with, not what a model said they should be ready for. In my previous roles, I could offer insight, strategy, and advice. But there were limits.

I could not always slow the pace.
I could not always address the human side of decision-making.
I could not always support the whole system.

The Systems Business Coach® framework paired with the Clarity Compass™, finally allows me to do that.

It creates space to look at the business structure, the leadership load, the team dynamics, and the personal capacity of the owner all at the same time. That is why the changes actually stick.

One Foundation, Different Forms of Support

This integrated method allows my work to flex naturally.

Sometimes the right support is coaching, where reflection and confidence matter most.
Sometimes it is consulting, where systems and strategy need to be built or refined.
Sometimes it is mentoring, where lived experience and perspective are what is needed.

The foundation stays the same. The delivery adapts. That flexibility is intentional and it is what allows the work to remain aligned rather than prescriptive.

Who This Is For and Why It Matters

This work is for business owners and leaders who are capable, committed, and tired of carrying everything alone.

It is for those whose business appears successful on paper but feels heavier than it should. For those who are doing many things right and still feel unsure where to focus next. For leaders who are not looking for another tactic, but for perspective.

I am sharing this because too many capable business owners assume that if things feel hard, scattered, or heavy, the problem must be them. Most of the time, it is not. More often, it is a system that has outgrown the way it is being led.

A Question to Sit With

Before you do anything else, pause with this question:

If you could see your business clearly, without urgency or pressure, what would you stop trying to fix all at once and finally address first?

That question alone often creates more clarity than another strategy ever could.

A Gentle Invitation Forward

This is the work I do.

I help business owners slow down long enough to see what is actually happening, decide what matters next, and move forward in a way that supports both the business and the human leading it.

If this article resonated, consider it an invitation to step out of reaction mode and into intentional leadership. That might look like a conversation, a program, or simply a shift in how you think about your business.

Clarity always starts with seeing the whole picture. And that is the work I am deeply committed to supporting. Feel free to contact me directly at karas@wrightstepcoaching.com, explore one of our upcoming programs, or join the online Wright Step Community at www.wrightstepcoaching.com.
